Jean Fitzgerald

June 4, 1956 - January 17, 2015

Jean Marie DesVeaux Fitzgerald, age 56, wife of Philip Fitzgerald, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Centennial Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 19, 2015, at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Deacon Dan McCulley officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, prior to the service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on June 4, 1958, in Southington, Connecticut, Jean was the daughter of the late John and Anne DesVeaux. She was of the Catholic faith and loved to sew, quilt, and read her Bible. She adored her Doberman pincher, Angel. Her family will remember her for her loving nature that saw through the boundaries of "step-kids." Nancy, Mark, Timothy, and Brian might have been her step-children, but Jean loved them each as her own. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four step-children: Nancy (Butch) Hansen of Wolcott, CT, Mark (Colleen) Fitzgerald 0f Oklahoma City, OK, Timothy (Melissa) Fitzgerald of Columbia, Brian (Monique) Fitzgerald of Waterbury, CT; sister: Sharon Roben (John McCarthy) of Spring Hill; ten step-grandchildren, and three step-great grandchildren.
