Ann E. Brown, age 81, a resident of Lewisburg, passed away Monday evening, January 12, 2015 at Glen Oaks Health and Rehabilitation in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, January 15th at 11am with Ricky Clay officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 4-8pm at the funeral home, and again from 10am until the 11am service on Thursday. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Ann was born December 4, 1933 in Maury County, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late John and Ida Cocke Lindsey. She attended school in Mt. Pleasant. She married the love of her life, William L. Brown in 1951. They were married for 43 years until his passing in 1994. She was a member of Scribners Mill Church of Christ. She enjoyed cross stitching and quilting, making many things for people. Ann was a very social lady, always going places and visiting people. She also cherished going for rides and sight- seeing. Another hobby she had was canning vegetables and cooking for family. Above all, Ann loved her family. She will always be remembered as a wonderful mother, wife, sister, and grandmother. Ann is survived by her son: Larry Wayne Brown of Unionville, TN; daughters: Peggy (Ronald) McKnight of Culleoka, TN and Margaret Brown of Lewisburg, TN; sister: Lura Fitzgerald of Columbia, TN; grandchildren: Michael (Heather) McKnight of Columbia, Stephen (Coreybeth) McKnight of Columbia, and Nick Brown of Shelbyville; great-grandchildren: Isabella Kay McKnight and Owen Nicholas McKnight; also several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband William L. Brown and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Mary Ellen Gibson, Pauline Anderson, J.D. Lindsey, Dick Lindsey, Jean Winn, Charles Lindsey, and Helen Lindsey. Pallbearers will be Stephen McKnight, Michael McKnight, Nick Brown, Clay Pruitt, Billy Winn, Jerry Vaughn, and Tony White. Honorary pallbearers will be the members at Scribners Mill Church of Christ.
