James Lemuel "Sonny" Hicks

May 12, 1932 - January 1, 2015

James Lemuel (Sonny) Hicks, age 82, a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at NHC of Columbia after an extended illness. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 4th at 2:00pm at Polk Memorial Gardens with James Wilkins officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A native of Maury County, he was born May 12, 1932 to the late George Lemuel Hicks and the late Minnie Ruth (Bell) Hicks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dot Boshers Hicks and his sister Ruth Wilkins Cothran. Mr. Hicks is survived by a niece Connie (Stephen) Lee of Nashville, TN and a nephew James (Rheta) Wilkins of Cookeville, TN. He is also survived by a great niece Abby Lee of Nashville, TN and two great nephews, Jeff (Rena) Wilkins of Sparta, TN and Ray (Candi) Wilkins of Cookeville, TN.
