Mr. Richard Houston, age 53, a resident of Seavy Hight Road in Columbia, passed away Sunday morning, December 28, 2014 at his residence. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bill Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Culleoka. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on May 22, 1961 in Kansas City, Missouri, Richard was the son of the late Thomas and Katherine Bertoncin Houston. He was retired from General Motors where he worked on the assembly line. He enjoyed any and everything Harley Davidson, and his family described him as being a jokester. He was a loving father who adored his kids and grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: Will Kreisel of Columbia, Jeremy Thomas of Columbia, Angie Houston of Columbia, Alex Houston of Culleoka; six grandchildren: Alli, Laura, and John Kreisel, Alana Thomas, and Kamryn and Kynzlee Houston; and niece Becky Shields of Kansas City, MO. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Annette Shields. Pallbearers will be: Josh Thomason, Nathan Cooper, Brannon Churchwell, Cory Harrington, Will Kreisel, Jeremy Thomas, and Alex Houston. Doug Cronin, Joe Khul, and Lenny Romo will serve as honorary pallbearers.
