Billy A. Kennedy

April 24, 1937 - December 23, 2014

Billy A. Kennedy, age 77, and a resident of Walden Road in Columbia, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Funeral services for Billy will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 27th in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Elder officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, and again on Saturday from 9am until the 10am service. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of and assisting the family with the arrangements. Born April 24, 1937 in Columbia, TN, he was the son of the late James Frank, Sr. and Alberta Kinzer Kennedy and the widower of the late Donna Patricia "Patsy" Kennedy, who passed away in November, 2013. He was very faithful in taking care of Patsy during her illness. Billy graduated from Columbia Central High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University. He worked as one the owners and salesman for Southway Auto Sales, and was a faithful member of West Seventh Street Church of Christ. He enjoyed going to the Waffle House on James Campbell Boulevard. Billy is survived by his daughter: Kay Kay Kennedy Sharp of Columbia; brothers: Jerry (Glenda) Kennedy of and Wayne (Sherrie) Kennedy, both of Columbia; sister: Francis (Richard) Brown of Franklin; granddaughter: Katie Beth Sharp. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Kenneth Kennedy and Frank Kennedy, Jr. Pallbearers will be Ricky Brown, Kevin Kennedy, Josh Kennedy, Jay Crawford, Stephen Wood, Mark Kennedy, Timmy Kennedy and Joey Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Kennedy, Wayne Kennedy, John Church, Bobby Brooks, A. C. Howell and Tommy Hight, Sr.
