Roy Allen Pope

Mr. Roy Allen Pope, 66, resident of B Kerr Road in Columbia, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his residence. A memorial service for Roy will be held 1:00 PM Friday, December 26, 2014 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Columbia with Evan Ellis officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born March 8, 1948 in Polk County, GA, he was the son of the late Roy David and Myrtice Treglown Pope and husband of Alexandra "Xandra" Simmons Pope. He was a manager with the waste disposal system of Polk County, GA and a barber by trade for over 20 years. He loved animals, to fish and his ministry, being active in the local congregation of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. In addition to his loving wife: Xandra, he is survived by a son: Rafael Pope of Florida; a daughter: Kimberly Purvis of Georgia; two grandchildren: Victoria Burns and Trey Purvis; two great grandchildren: Kynzie Albert and Khloe Albert; a sister: Addie Lena Sisson of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his brother: Ronald Joe Pope.
