Mary Alice Davison, age 89, a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday evening, December 2, 2014 at Signature Healthcare. A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, December 6th at 11:30 AM at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Paschall officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. The family will also visit with friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service from 10:30 - 11:30 AM at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Mary was born on November 22, 1925 in Maury County, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Henry Stone and Ophelia Hall Stone. She owned and operated her own business, Café in Columbia, years ago. She was dedicated to her work. Mary was a very active member in her church. She loved to dress nice and always looked good. She was a devoted wife to her husband Ivira Davison that preceded her in death in 1999. Mary is survived by her nieces: Lisa (Ricky) Armstrong of Columbia, Sylvia Davis (Tony) Hatton of Murfreesboro, Eura Petway Patterson of Nashville, TN; nephew: Jackie Dobbins of Columbia, Perry Duke and family; sister-in-law: Rosalee Stone of Columbia; great-niece: Alicia Smith of Columbia; great-great-niece: Zamiyah Bush; and a special devoted friend Patricia Dawson (Lionel C.) Payne of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her husband Ivira Davison and her parents. Also preceding her in death were her sisters: Evelyn Dobbins, Addie Hardison, Lou Ella Ray, and Eula Stone; and brothers: Johnny Stone and Henry Stone.
