Jerry Hanshaw

Mr. Jerry M. Hanshaw, age 60, longtime resident of Culleoka, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at NHC Healthcare, Columbia. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 5:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Cory Bell of the Culleoka Church of Christ officiating. A viewing and visitation for the family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Jerry was born in Birmingham, AL to Joe and Eloise (Blair) Hanshaw, both of whom preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was Robert Crosby, a brother, longtime fishing partner, and mentor. Jerry was an avid fisherman, a 30 year member of the Culleoka Fire Department, and recognized as a friend to all the Culleoka Community and surrounding area. Jerry is survived by his sister: Francis Tyson and family in Alexander City, AL; brother: Rusty (Kathy) Hanshaw of Greenwood, IN; nephews: Michael (Pam) Crosby and family of Richmond, VA, Robert (Amber) Hanshaw and family of Atlanta, GA., and Ben (Lori) Hanshaw and family of Greenwood, IN. Also surviving are his step-children: David and Jessica Bates and family, and Ashley Roland all of Fayetteville, TN. Jerry also fondly remembered special friends: Phillip and Faye Parrish, Mrs. Willard Wise, Frankie Harwell, The Charles Allen Hines Family, and Julie Bonham for their kindness through the years. Jerry has many other friends, too numerous to mention, in Culleoka and Maury Fire/ Rescue services.
