Walter Boggs

Walter P. Boggs, 86, of Columbia, TN, formerly of New Kensington, went to be with the Lord Monday, November 24, 2014 after a lengthy illness. A family graveside service is planned at Plum Creek Cemetery in his home state PA. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born July 26, 1928 in New Kensington, PA to Donald and Ruth Boggs, Walt worked for Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania for 28 years. Upon moving to Naples, FL, he worked for United Telephone. After retiring, he moved to Columbia, TN and was a member of Zion Presbyterian Church. He loved reading, woodworking, history, and spending time with family. Survivors include one daughter, Carol (Scott) Craig of West Bend, WI; two sons, John Clifford (Donnis) Boggs, of Carol Stream, IL and Jeffrey P. Boggs Sr. (Terry), of Columbia, TN; granddaughters, Emily and Lauren Craig, of West Bend; grandsons, Aaron, Eric, and Ethan Boggs of Carol Stream, Jeffrey P. (Sara) Boggs Jr. of Spring Hill, TN and Bryan L. (Katie) Boggs of Cordova, TN; great- granddaughter, Bailee Ann Boggs; great-grandsons, Wesley P. Boggs, and Oliver Mac Boggs of Spring Hill; and many nieces and nephews. Walt was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Carol M (Connie) Boggs, and brother, Donald Boggs. The family is extremely grateful for the loving care Walt received from the entire staff at NHC Columbia. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the NHC Healthcare Columbia chapter of The Foundation for Geriatric Education, 101 Walnut Lane, Columbia, TN 38401.
