Mr. Paul Jackson Stewart, age 84, resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at NHC Healthcare of Columbia. Funeral Services will be Thursday, November 13, 2014, at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Herb Helton and Keith Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with Pastor Rick Points officiating at the graveside. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home and also one hour prior to services on Thursday. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on September 6, 1930, in Maury County, Tennessee, Paul was the son of the late Raleigh Stewart and Elsie Mae Hutcherson. His friends and family will remember him as a loving man who treated every friend as if they were family. He loved his monkey, Tipsy, and his dog, He also enjoyed playing horseshoes and watching NASCAR and TV Land, but he especially loved spending time with his family and friends. His family will remember him as a loving father, brother, grandfather, but especially friend. His community will also remember his ability to build anything out of wood, especially barns. He was recognized by many as "the best barn builder in Maury County." He is survived by his two sons: Frank E. Stewart and Jesse Stewart; three daughters: Patsy (Danny) McDonald, Elaine (Hank) Roberts, and Sheryl (Dwayne) Adams; three brothers: Leonard Stewart, Tommy Stewart, and Wesley Stewart; two sisters: Betty Reed and Shelia Cornelius. 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha D. Scott Stewart; two sons, Howard Stewart and Jack Stewart; one granddaughter, Crystal McDonald, and four brothers. Pallbearers will be Tim Stewart, Bubba Stewart, Jeremy Roberts, Austin Adams, Josh Adams, and Harley Stewart. Honorary pallbearer will be Yolanda Roberts.
