Mr. Homer Lee Ring, age 73, resident of Park Circle in Columbia, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014 at his residence. Born august 29, 1941 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Percy and Rachel Amick Ring. Mr. Ring was an area salesman for many different feed and supply stores and a member of New Lasea Church of Christ. He was a collector of old antique cars and knifes. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and working at his job. He was described as a well liked person and a jokester. Funeral services for Mr. Ring will be conducted at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny McFarlan officiating. Burial will follow in the Hardison Cemetery on Rock Springs Road. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 10, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home on Bear Creek Pike. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Jim Ellis, Peter Hudson, Donald Kincaid, Jerid Metcalf, Jeff Baker, Dr. Ben High, friends of the Shop and friends from Cathy's Restaurant. Mr. Ring is survived by his daughter: Pamela (Scott) Harmon of Franklin; brother: Billy (Jennie) Ring of Columbia; sister: Peggy Sampson of Columbia; grandchildren: Casey Harmon, Kaylen Harmon, Kelly Harmon, Cameron Harmon, Jeremy Ring and David Lane; great grandchild: Gracie Ring; very special friend: Linda Tomlin of Columbia; mother of his children: Joyce Wishart of Franklin; sister-in-law: Faye Ring. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Kimberly Ring and a brother: Ronnie Ring.
