Lorelei Massey

Mrs. Lorelei Bassham Massey, age 62 and resident of Centerville and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at 1:00 PM at the Sandy Hook Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant, TN with Brother Terry Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will visit with friends on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, and Saturday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the church, prior to the service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on April 3, 1952 in Maury County, TN, Lorelei was the daughter of Walter Bassham and Gladys Thompson Bassham. She was a hairdresser at Lords and Ladies and in her spare time, she enjoyed softball and karaoke. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her son: Robert L. (Cary) Massey of Centerville; brothers: Darryl Bassham (Donna Pugh) and Mark Bassham; sisters: Cynthia Bassham and Evangeline Bassham (Mary Bowers); five grandchildren: Toni House, Amber Massey, Kayleigh Massey, Shelby Hull, Dalton Hull; one great-grandchild: Brayden Smith. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband: Robert Earl Massey; a brother: George Ronald Bassham; and a sister: Beverly Ann Kirk. Pallbearers will be: Gaylon Wood, David Barnes, Justin cook, Nathan Woods, Deano Bassham, Jonathan Woods.
