Mr. James "Jimmy" Slaughter, age 84, a resident of Spring Hill, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 at his residence. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Smithson officiating. Burial will follow at Williamson Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Air Force. Pastor Rick Points will officiate the graveside service. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, October 13, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM with a Masonic service beginning at 7:00 PM. The family will also visit with friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born in Williamson County on September 23, 1930, Jimmy was the son of the late Rev. O.C. and Aubie Lavender Slaughter. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was employed by the State of Tennessee. He was a member of the Bethesda Masonic Lodge 201 since 1952. He is survived by his wife: Kathy Slaughter; sons: Randy (Beverly) Slaughter of Lewisburg, Adam (Stacey) Slaughter of Spring Hill; daughters: Debbie (Tim) Mason of Rock Island, TN, Darlene (Clarence) Gordon of Chapel Hill; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and very close friends: A.B. Church and David Smithson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother: Harold Slaughter; sisters: Geneva Taylor, Martha Crutcher; grandson: Brandon Slaughter; and former wife: Bobbie Jean Eady Slaughter. Pallbearers will be Tony Wallace, Ray Pegram, Bobby Joe Hurt, Troy Smithson, Mike Edgett, Tim Mason, Sammy Smithson, and Clarence Gordon.
