Mr. Joseph "Randy" Bowen, age 58, and a resident of Mt. Pleasant passed away Monday, September 29, 2014, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 2nd at 2pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Blowing Springs Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 4-8pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Randy was born in Columbia, TN on August 7, 1956 and was the son of the late Walter and Tonie Workman Bowen. He was a graduate of Campbellsville High School. He worked as a tube mill operator. Some of his hobbies included fishing, gardening, and cooking. He loved spending time with family. One of his joys in life was going to get ice cream with his grandchildren. Randy was known best for building things. He was always doing carpentry work. He will be missed by all who knew him. Randy is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette Powell Bowen; children: Blake (Bridget) Hardison of Mt. Pleasant, Dana Beth (Katy) Bowen of Collinwood, and McKenzie Bowen of Mt. Pleasant; siblings: Donna Campbell and Lorrie Martin, both of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Haley Anne Hardison and Candice Michelle Hardison; along with several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his brothers Sammy and Wendell Bowen; and a niece Lisa Marie Jones. Pallbearers will be Blake Hardison, Justin Bowen, Wayne Bowen, Bubba Bolton, Paul Martin, and Butler Nichols. Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff in the ICU at Maury Regional Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
