Mrs. Sarah Helen Cain, age 79, wife of James H. Cain, and a resident of Summertown passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, September 28 from 4 to 7pm and Monday, September 29 from 12 noon until 2pm at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements and assisting the family. A native of Tennessee, Mrs. Cain was born in Jackson, TN to the late Rev. E.E. & Alline McNatt. In 1954, she married James Cain and they had three sons; Jim, Tim & Terry. Mrs. Cain has served her family in many capacities. She has been a pastor's wife, business owner with her husband, worked outside their business in public work but always her top priorities were her kids, grandkids and in recent years, great-grandkids. She lived for family events and getting together with her sister, nieces, and kids. She played the accordion and piano in her younger years as she sang in church. Her and her husband's business and ministry has created many home towns for her; Memphis, TN, Chattanooga, TN, Paducah, KY, Madisonville, KY, Berea, KY, Murray, KY and her final home since 2005, Summertown, TN. Highlights for "Helen" were when her 3 sons were in the same room, picking on her, pushing her buttons, and in their way; loving their "momma." In her final years; her grand-daughter, "Bella" became the apple of her eye as she battled with her health. In addition to her husband James of Summertown, she is survived by her three sons; Jim (Mary) Cain of Georgia, Tim (Carrie) Cain of Ohio, and Terry (Deborah) Cain of Spring Hill; her sister, Bessie (Neal) Boling of Adamsville, TN; six grandchildren; Nakevin (Emily) Cain, Janika Cain, Chase Cain, Toshina (Seth) Rawlings, Skyler Cain and Isabella Cain; six great-grandchildren, and was so looking forward to two more great-grandchildren before the end of the year; and several nephews and nieces. We would like to express our appreciation for all of the kindness of family and friends in this time of transition in our life.
