Douglas Moore

July 8, 1939 - September 14, 2014

Mr. Douglas H. "Doug" Moore, age 75 of Brentwood, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the Residence of Alive Hospice in Nashville. Mr. Moore was born July 8, 1939 in Greenville, MI and was the son of the late Robert Ellis Moore and Janet Hamilton Johnson Moore. He worked in sales and management selling commercial insurance and risk management. Doug's family will celebrate his life with a gathering of friends and family on the 20th, September 2014 at the Stoveworks Restaurant in the Factory in Franklin, TN from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Additional services will be private. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Anybody who knew Doug understood his passion for fly fishing and laughter. He began a fishing trip in Pennsylvania over 47 years ago with a couple of friends that has grown to 30+ making the annual trek. He was active in Hunters for the Hungry and was recognized with a Presidential Award for his efforts. While studying at the University of Nebraska, Doug was named captain of the Gymnastics Squad where he also earned his place in the letterman society. No matter what he did, laughter was included. Doug loved to laugh, share humor and make sure your day was brighter. Through it all he loved his family, immediate and extended. He will be remembered and honored as a husband, father and grandfather who had a passion for life and for his family and friends. Honoring his memory is his wife of 50 years: Beverly Jane Moore; sons: Mike Moore and Matt (Rita) Moore; and a grand-daughter Olivia all living in Brentwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Jim Moore.
