William Ledford

William (Billy/Moosie) Floyd Ledford, age 61, of Columbia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at his residence for his journey to be with the Lord. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13th at 10am in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Eternity at Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to the funeral home. The family will visit with friends on Friday, September 12th from 4-8pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Billy was born to the late Clifton Ray Ledford and Charlotte Ann Chumley Ledford of Columbia, Tennessee on July 4, 1953. He worked for UCAR for 23 years and retired in 2005. He loved doing yard work and loved his family. He was known as Paw Paw Moosie and Dat Dat by his loving grandchildren. Billy was married to Janice (Mimi) Davis Ledford on October 24, 1980. They were married for 33 years. Along with his wife Janice, he is survived by brothers: Steve Ledford, Michael (Kim) Ledford, and Kevin (Elodia) Ledford; children: Jeremy (Stephanie) Ledford, Tia (Justin) Ledford, Seth (Taylor) Ledford, Holly Gibson; step-son: Troy (Amanda A.) Hargrove; grandchildren: Kayla (Sean) Norman Luther, Shelby (Austin) Ledford, Stetson Ledford, Paisley Hicks, Justin Hicks, Jr., Austyn Ledford, Leighton Hurt, Hunter (Amanda P.) Hargrove, Hannah Hargrove, Jon Michael Wright, Mison (father Matt) Gibson, Gabrielle Mayo, honorary grandchild: Ethan Willis (mother Kathy Armstrong); and also several nieces and nephews. Mother-in-law: Mary Katherine Davis and brother-in-law: Ronnie (Sandy) Davis. Pallbearers will be Seth Ledford, Kevin Ledford, Steve Ledford, Michael Ledford, Hunter Hargrove, Justin Hicks, and Austin Stanfill. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Hany Rezk, Dr. Cobb (MNBF) and the wonderful nurses Casey Dawson and Christina of Maury Regional, Carlita, Cara and Matt of Fresenius Medical Care, Mary Ellen and Paige of Hospice Compassus, and Dr. Gardner. Also, special thanks to great friends Wanda and Charles Newcomb.
