Ernestine Hendricks Davis

December 14, 1926 - August 29, 2014

Mrs. Ernestine Davis, age 87, and a resident of Joe Brown Road in Columbia, TN passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 at her residence. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 1, 2014 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM and Memorial Service will follow at 5:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Brother Randy Short officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Davis was born on December 14, 1926 in Columbia, TN to the late Joe Ike Hendricks and the late Rosie Brown. Before retiring she worked as a clerk in a Deli. Ernestine also worked as an assembler, assembling phones for Motorola, and she loved working in the hospital nurseries. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and computer games in her spare time and she was a big Atlanta Braves Baseball fan. She is survived by her sons: Gary Davis of Columbia; Joel Davis of Clifton; daughter: Shirley Morin of Linden; brothers: James Marlin Hendricks of Maury County; Billy Hendricks of Maury County; friend & cousin: Bobbie Lovett, Mrs. Davis wanted to say "Thanks for being the sister I never had"; Thirteen grandchildren; Fifteen great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Viola Hendricks of Columbia. In addition to her parents, Ernestine was preceded in death by her husband: Mark Luke Davis whom she married on May 2, 1946 (1987); son: Ronald Davis (2002); brother: Curtis Hendricks.
