Angela Pierce Adams

June 17, 1944 - August 26, 2014

Angela Pierce Adams, age 70, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Signature Healthcare after an extended illness. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, August 29 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Eric Nichols. Burial will follow in the Garden of Eternity in Maury Memorial Gardens adjacent to the funeral home. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM and again one hour prior to the service on Friday at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. Born in Indiana on June 17, 1944. Angela was the daughter of the late Hugh and Hattie Mae Mosley Pierce. She was a resident of Florida for about 40 years, moving to Columbia about ten years ago. She was a member of Hampshire Baptist Church and worked as a nurse the majority of her life. She highly enjoyed working as a nurse and loved all of her patients. Angela loved people and was jolly person herself. She had a great sense of humor, always cracking jokes and making people laugh. She enjoyed playing darts and bowling. Angela was a good person with a good soul. She loved her kids, grandkids, and all of her family. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters: Teresa Diane Greenfield of Florida, Vickie Lynn Witherspoon of Florida; brother: Hugh Wesley Pierce of Columbia; sisters: Faye (George) Pavel of Centerville, Jean (Punkin) Johnson of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Hugh Pierce. Pallbearers will be Jerry Dewayne "Sam" Scroggins, James Thomas "Burr Head" Scroggins, James Douglas Johnson, Sr., James Douglas Johnson, Jr., Jerry Wayne Scroggins, and Jeff Scroggins. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees at J&S Painting and the employees of Plant Operations at Maury Regional Medical Center.
