Michael Ladd

April 17, 1963 - August 25, 2014

Michael Ladd, age 51 of Spring Hill, passed away on Monday morning, August 25, 2014 at his residence, surrounded by his family. A native of Williamson County, Michael was the son of Clifton Ladd and the late Josephine Waller Ladd. Although he could fix anything, he spent a great deal of his time and effort as a plumber. Michael will be remembered as a man of great expectations. He would always look at situations for what could be done instead of seeing what couldn't be accomplished. Truly his glass was "half-full." He was charismatic to the point that people wanted to be around him. His family recounts that Michael was so friendly that he was able to start conversations even with complete strangers. He was filled with creativity and had a good hand for art. He was extremely intelligent and had an intense love for music. In earlier years he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and always looked forward to gardening season. Michael truly was filled with life and enjoyed every aspect of it. In addition to his father: Clifton Ladd; Michael is survived by his wife: Kathy Grubb Ladd; and four children: Tabatha (Buddy) Sweeney, Sheena (Lewis) Anderson, William "L.C." (Brittney) Sweeney and Raven Ladd, all of Williamson County. He is also survived by 2 brothers: Richard Ladd of Williamson County and Jeff Hertz of Nashville; 3 sisters: Tammy (T.D.) Vaughn and Gwen (Jeff) Mayes of Williamson County and Candice (Daryl) Gentry of Portland; and 4 grandchildren: Trent Mays, Anthony Bobo, William Sweeney and Nathan Sweeney. He was preceded in death by his mother: Josephine Waller Ladd. Michael's family will celebrate his life on Sunday, August 31 at 3:00 PM on the banks of the Harpeth River at Grace Chapel in Leiper's Fork.
