Betty Mai Potts, age 83, a resident of Dog Creek Rd in Primm Springs, passed away Thursday evening, August 21, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Fewell and Keith Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Potts Cemetery in Primm Springs. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM and again one hour prior to the service on Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. A native of Maury County, Mrs. Potts was born on September 10, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Claude Potts and the late Lola Kelly Potts. She was a member of the Elmore Nazarene Church. Betty was a homemaker for the majority of her life. She loved cooking, making delicious meals for many people. "The more the merrier." She shared her home with numerous people, leaving her back door unlocked for anyone to come in at any time of day to grab a bite to eat, something to drink, or a place to stay. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and any other child that needed to be cared for. Her loving and caring heart will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Potts is survived by her children: Roberta Stanley of Columbia; Joy (John) Stanfill of Primm Springs, and Donald (Barbara) Potts of Primm Springs; siblings: Janice Burgett of Culleoka; Margie Lancaster of Columbia; Linda Walls of Knob Creek, and Billy Potts of Primm Springs; grandchildren: Tracy Miles Potts; Stacey Potts; Andrea Potts all of Primm Springs; Robin Johnson of McMinnville; Jaime Potts of Alabama; and Jade Upton of Cornersville; great-grandchildren: Miles Holden Potts of Primm Springs; Kaylyn Guzman of McMinnville; Jaylyn Johnson of McMinnville; Jasmine Potts of Williamsport; and a special nephew: Doyle Potts. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband: Robert Miles Potts; sons: Bobby Joe Potts and Steve Potts; brothers: Cecil Potts, JB Potts, Jerry Potts, and Tommy Potts. Pallbearers will be Tracey Miles Potts, Miles Holden Potts, Daniel Potts, Troy Potts, Doyle Potts, and Tim Stanfill. All of Betty's nieces and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
