Charles Joseph "Chas" Zimmer, III, age 61 of Lewisburg, passed away Monday evening, August 18, 2014 at his residence. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, August 23 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 4:00 PM Saturday, celebrating and honoring Chas' life on what would have been his 62nd birthday. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Charles was born August 23, 1952 in Trenton, NJ, was the son of the late Charles Joseph Zimmer Jr and Eugenia Stoy Zimmer, and was retired from General Motors. In his free time Chas loved mowing and gardening. He had a talent for being able to plant anything and having it grow into something of beauty. When the weather forced him inside, he enjoyed watching television or working on the computer searching the latest stock trends, inquiring about the needs of his plants, or simply learning new information. He is survived by his wife: Donna Thompson Zimmer of Lewisburg; 2 sisters: Patricia Gore of Franklin and Barbara Jean (John) McCullough of Trenton, NJ; a brother-in-law: Howard Thompson Jr of WV; 2 sisters-in-law: Debbie Stout and Darla (Mike) Jones both of Levittown, PA and several nieces and nephews.
