Sue Humphrey

October 19, 1933 - August 18, 2014

Sue Hill Humphrey, age 80, a resident of Metamora, Michigan passed away unexpectedly and peacefully, with her family by her side, to be with the Lord on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. She was born on October 19, 1933 and raised in the Santa Fe and Theta Community of Maury County, Tennessee. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Coats Funeral Home in Clarkston, Michigan. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, TN., with Pastors Gene Shelton and Mark Lindstrom officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, and one hour before the service on Friday. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Howard C. Hill and Mandy (Aline Shouse) Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Hill. After marrying, Sue moved to Michigan in the early 50's to work and raise her family. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend. She was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed being involved in and discussing Politics. Sue was a "Snow Bird" and during the winter months made in her home in Ft. Myers, Florida. She is survived by her husband of 20 years; James D. Humphrey of Metamora, Michigan, and her children: Paula (David) Hutchins of Clarkston, MI; Guy (Lorie) Derryberry of Columbia, TN; Murray (Peggy) Derryberry of Pulaski, TN; Teresa (Rick) Ogg of Clarkston, MI; Alan (Alana) Derryberry of Metamora, MI; and Darryl (Karen) Derryberry of Metamora, MI; 19 Grandchildren; 29 Great-grandchildren; Step-children: Pat (Mike) McKee of Metamora, MI; Alleshia Walker of Clarkston, MI; and Larry Humphrey of Metamora, MI; sister: Barbara Faye (Jerry) Burton of Columbia, TN. Pallbearers will be Grandsons: Chris Parker; Zachary Derryberry; Corey Derryberry; Wesley Derryberry; Danny Derryberry; D.J. Derryberry; Brandon Miller; Eric Ogg; Adam Derryberry; and Alex Derryberry.
