James Cooley

March 19, 1932 - August 18, 2014

James F. Cooley, age 82 of Columbia, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 at his residence. With military honors provided by the United States Army, James will be laid to rest in the Middle Tennessee State Veteran Cemetery on Wednesday, August 20 at 2:00 PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. James was born March 19, 1932 in Dyer County, TN and was the son of the late Floyd Cooley and Letha Lucas Cooley. He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. It is easy to smile when you think about James. He was outgoing, loved people and could get any conversation started. He loved children and his dogs, and will be remembered as kind and tender hearted. He is survived by Pauline Muncy Cooley, his wife and soulmate; her daughter: Cathy Vester (John Joecklel) of Columbia; and a grandson of whom he was so proud: Randall Vester.
