James J. Tiedjens, age 85, husband of Sherry Tiedjens, and a longtime resident of Lawrenceburg, passed away Saturday morning, August 9, 2014. Born on June 11, 1929 in Plymouth, Wisconsin, James was the son of the late Roland and Eva Schroeder Tiedjens. Jim was a Founder, first President and the only two-time President of NARM: National Association of Recording Merchandisers founded in 1958. He was successful entrepreneur throughout his entire life. He served in the Naval Reserves, was a private pilot who loved flying and had a passion for music, playing the trombone since he was in grade school. He culminated his music career by playing both trombone and harmonica in the WLX Country Cafe Band. Jim was a founding member of the Lawrenceburg Christian Fellowship Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Tom (Vicky) Tiedjens of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, John Tiedjens of Reno, Nevada, Jean (David) Kucy of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Nancy (Marc) Bigot of Orlando, Florida, Matt (Cherie) Johns of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Chris (Kathy) Johns of Spring Hill, Tennessee, and his Sister Geraldine (Dr. Edwin) Knoechel of Eastport, Michigan, and his grandchildren Kassi, Jordan, Mitchell, Zachary, Channing, Braxton, Austin, Brandon, and Owen. The family will celebrate his life with a memorial service on Saturday August 23rd from 3-5PM at the WLX Radio Station located at 1212 North Locust Avenue in Lawrenceburg. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
