Billy Joe Tipton

December 28, 1936 - August 6, 2014

Mr. Billy Joe Tipton, age 77, husband of Pat Tipton, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday morning, August 6, 2014 at his residence. The family will celebrate his life with services at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born in Caruthersville, Missouri on December 28, 1936, Billy was the son of the late William and Opra Barker Tipton. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who had a big sense of humor and always had a good story to tell. He enjoyed fishing, but he especially enjoyed Elvis Presley and his music. Billy would do anything for anybody and often helped others when they were in need. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: Terry (Richard) Fleischer of Reno, Nevada, Bryan (Anh) Tipton of Columbia, Donna (Greg) Besaw of College Grove, Tennessee; brother: Harold (Evelyn) Tipton of Indianapolis, Indiana; sisters: Dottie Whitten of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Carol (Fred) Sanfilippo of Tallahassee, Florida, Ruth Tipton of Indianapolis, Indiana; and grandchildren: Nick, Zach, Hillary, Kyle, Danielle, Spencer, Jason, and Brandon.
