Wayne Ashworth

March 28, 1966 - August 2, 2014

Mr. Wayne Ashworth, age 48, a resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Telford Tharp officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 4:00 -8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A native of Columbia, Wayne was born on March 28, 1966 and was the son of the late Dorris Delbert and Mandy Whitehead Ashworth. He enjoyed watching wrestling and was a big Dale Earnhardt fan. He loved all animals, but most all, he loved driving his dump truck. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son: John (Tessa) Ashworth of Columbia; brothers: Eugene Ashworth of Culleoka, Buddy Ashworth of Columbia, Robert Ashworth of Columbia, Bonni (Kim) Ashworth of Williamsport; sisters: Faye (Delbert) Manley of Williamsport, Margaret Allen of Mt, Juliet, Debra Rubert of Culleoka; and one granddaughter: Mya Faith Ashworth of Columbia. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters: Peggy Kennedy, Rosemary Ashworth; and brother: Jimmy Ashworth. Pallbearers will be John Tosh, Robert Anthony Ashworth, Jonathan Wayne Ashworth, Delbert "Punkin" Manley, Bryan Rubert, and Chris Carroll.
