Mr. Jeffery Wayne "Jeff" Meade, age 52 of Columbia, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 12:00 noon from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Swango officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to Heritage Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 3 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Jeff was born May 13, 1962 in Paintsville, KY and was the son of the late Jesse Eugene Meade and Mrs. Joanna Morrison "Jody" Meade of Columbia, who survives. Jeff was the Kennel Master at the Maury County Animal Shelter. He loved animals and the opportunity to work with them. He was "all about family" and will be remembered as a loving man of God with a priceless sense of humor. Jeff enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time making people laugh and cooking for his family. In earlier years he was known to have preached a sermon or two, but his path and service to his God took on new directions. He was a faithful member of the Loyal Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to his mother: Jody Meade of Columbia; he is survived by wife: Sharon Raymond Meade and two sons: Zachary Edward Meade and Anthony Eugene Meade, all of Columbia; a brother: Jonathan Eugene Meade of Columbia; sister: Sara Joyce Gillespie of Lincoln, AL; Paternal Grandmother: Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Meade of Flat Gap, KY; two grandsons: Keith Jacob "Jake" Williams and John Bailey Williams; and three step-children: Lenny West of Murfreesboro, Karen West of Naples, FL and Stephanie (Beau) Williams of Murfreesboro. In addition to his father, Pastor Jesse Meade, he was preceded in death by a son: Andrew Wayne Meade.
