Rita Ruth Feek

Rita Ruth Feek, age 71, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at her residence. Services will be a private family gathering at home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born in Port Huron, Michigan on October 25, 1942, Rita was the daughter of the late Leo Clayton and Madeline Marian Pemberton Carnahan and was of the Catholic Faith. She loved reading, writing, and painting. Rita also enjoyed learning. At the age of 63, she went back to school and earned her Associate's Degree in Psychology at Columbia State Community College. Her life was filled with joy and she spent her days serving others with a smile, and just generally being a blessing to everyone around her. She is survived by her children: Joe Butler, Christopher Blaine (Vickie) Butler, Sr., Rory Lee (Joey) Feek, Marcy Madeline (Donald) Gary, Candy Jean (Keith) Hunley; siblings: Anna Brown, Leo Carnahan, Rodger Carnahan, Michael Carnahan, David Carnahan, Madeline Wilson, Dennis Carnahan, Steve Carnahan; grandchildren: Mikel Hunt, Tessie Butler, Christopher Blaine Butler, Jr., Zachary Butler, Magen Gary, Brenda Gary, Donald Gary, Jr., Amber Butler, Rachel Hunley, Taylor Hunley, Hayden Hunley, Heidi Pierce, Hopie Feek, Indiana Feek; and great-grandchildren: Kylie Butler, Christopher Blaine Butler III, Dakota Butler, and Nelia Flores. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Mary Margaret, Patrick Lovell, Charles Carnahan, and Timothy Carnahan.
