William C. Bearden

April 19, 1940 - July 28, 2014

Mr. William C. "Buddy" Bearden, age 74 of Summertown, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center. The family will celebrate his life on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Barnsville Baptist Church in Lawrence County. They will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Saturday. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Buddy was born April 19, 1940 in Shelby County, Alabama and was the son of the late Charles Bearden and Ola VanZant Bearden Byrd. He was retired from Union Carbide. He will be remembered as a "good man" by his family and friends. He was a master craftsman who could see a woodworking project in his mind, then make it a reality. He enjoyed any type of fishing and hunting and loved running his coon hounds and beagles. If it was outside, Buddy was happy be a part of it! In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter: Monnetta Bearden; 4 sisters: Betty, Shirley, Louise, and Mary Lou; and a brother: Roy. He is survived by his wife and companion: Shirley Bearden of Summertown; 4 sons: Steve Bearden of Alabama, Keith Bearden, Broc Bearden and Preston Bearden all of Summertown; 2 brothers: Lindsey Bearden of Summertown and Jimmy Bearden of Lawrenceburg; three sisters: Linda Honn, Jean Littrell and Charlene Rawdon all of Lawrenceburg; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
