Robert Outzen

January 2, 1958 - June 28, 2014

Mr. Robert "Bob" Outzen, age 56 of Lewisburg, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at NHC-Oakwood, where he had resided the past three years. The family will celebrate his life on Thursday, July 3 at 6pm in the Dining Hall of NHC-Oakwood in Lewisburg. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born in Huntington, West Virginia on January 2, 1958, Bob was the son of George Rodney and Constance "Connie" Elaine Ritter Outzen. Following high school, he completed courses to learn his trade of carpentry, plumbing and electrical work. On April 28, 1990 he married his wife: Mary Rousell Outzen. Over the following 24 years together they shared many experiences and faced difficulties, but through it all, their commitment to each other gave them the strength to survive it all. They were blessed with two sons: Brandon and Zack. Bob will be remembered as a faithful husband, good father and excellent cook. He always worked to provide for his family, and faced his greatest personal challenge when his health took away that ability a few years back. No matter the circumstances, though, Mary was blessed by Bob's parting words each time they said goodbye, "I love you foreverand a day." In addition to his wife: Mary and two sons: Brandon Outzen and Zack Outzen, all of Lewisburg; he is survived by two sisters: Sheryl Ann Hatch and Melanie Rae Outzen, both of California.
