Billy Pulley

March 7, 1940 - June 6, 2014

Mr. Billy Pulley, age 74, husband of Willie Stinnett Pulley, and a resident of Hohenwald, passed away Friday morning, June 6, 2014 at his residence. The family will celebrate his life with services at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born in Waynesboro, TN on March 7, 1940, Billy was the son of the late Henry Clayborne and Myrtle Mae Clay Pulley. He was retired from the Lewis County Highway Department where he worked many years as a heavy equipment operator. When he wasn't working, you could often find him "loafing," just simply resting and hanging out. Billy was also a collector who enjoyed auctions and joy rides. He loved to fish, but wasn't a fan of eating it. His family described him as being a "curious" man who would follow an ambulance or fire truck to see what was going on. Billy especially loved his family and looked forward to family dinners and spending time with his big family. He was a helpful man who would do anything for anybody. In addition to his wife, Willie of 41 years, Billy is survived by his children: Billy Gene Pulley Jr. (Tina Pulley) of Hohenwald, TN, Bradley Gene Pulley of Hohenwald, Brenda Gail (Marty) Arnold of Martin, TN, Barbara Jean (Kent) Wallace of Hohenwald, Beverly Sue (Steve Small) Gray of Hohenwald, Amanda Darlene (Becca Jess) Pulley of Antioch; step-children: Arthur Calvert, Roy Elliott, Leroy (Renee) Calvert, Joe Calvert all of Hohenwald; sister: Emma Jean Hodge of Hohenwald; grandchildren: Sonya Sharp, Ivy Sharp, Ashley Hanks, Samantha Wallace, Michael Wallace, Kenneth Wallace, Alexander Pulley, Dalton Pulley, Colton Pulley, Evan Pulley, Gracie Pulley, Brandy Pulley, Chiana Pulley, Scottie "Brad" Pulley, Caitlyn Pulley, Heather Gray, Patrick Calvert, April Calvert, Tiffany Barnickel, Shane Rayner; eleven step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren: Destiny Gray, Jala "Tootsie Roll" Pulley, Jonathan Greenlee, Leland Flaherty, Seth Flaherty, many other great-grandchildren; and son-in-law: Stanley Gray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-daughter and her husband: Carolyn and Daryl Allen; mother-in-law: Bertha Mae Kelley; father-in-law: Arthur Stinnett; brother-in-law: Eugene Stinnett; sister-in-law: Mary Lou Jordan; son-in-law" John Sharp; nephew: David "Juvy" Kilpatrick; one niece; one nephew; and former wife: Elsie Lee Hodge.
