Wendell Clarke Chambers

Wendell Chambers, age 57 of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Bolivar General Hospital in Bolivar, TN. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 12:00 PM from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Jack Thacker. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to the funeral home. The family will visit with friends on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home and again one hour prior to the service from 11AM-12PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Wendell was born February 6, 1957 in Martin, TN and was the son of the late W.C. Chambers and Mrs. Johnnie Mae Mealer Chambers, who survives. He had worked for Premier Cleaning Services at the Saturn Plant in Spring Hill and was a member of the Baptist Church. When he was able, he enjoyed coon hunting and spending time with friends and family. In addition to his mother, Johnnie Mae Chambers of Columbia, he is survived by his children: Willis Calvin Chambers and Wendy Catherine Chambers; a brother: Corey Chambers; and three grandchildren: William Chad Chambers, Shawn Matthew Chambers and Raylon Thomas Jones, all of Columbia. Additionally, he is survived by two aunts: Esther Alene (Melvin) Neace of Camden, TN and Mizella Hammonds of Martin, TN; and numerous cousins. Pallbearers will be William Chad Chambers, Todd Dalton, David Collins, Mark Sharp, Mike Gibson, and Jon Jones.
