Michael Daniels

Michael Allen Daniels, age 65, a resident of Corbin St in Summertown, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with military honors provided by the United States Army to conclude the services. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 AM until the 2:00 PM service at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The Ann Arbor, MI native was born March 12, 1949 and was the son of the late Carl Daniels and Ethel McNeal Daniels. He was a graduate of Whitmore Lake High School and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam eras. Michael was a bus driver with the Maury County School System, a retired truck driver with Bentley & Son, and a member of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and children, playing with and raising his English Bulldogs, or simply sitting on the deck watching the deer. Though always comfortable in a pair of overalls, he was happiest on the back of his Harley, on the open road. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grand-daughter: Aleah Daniels. He is survived by his wife: Lynn Woods Daniels of Summertown; a son: John Michael (Michelle) Finley of St. Bays, GA; daughters: Jeannemarie (Shannon) Kirby of Howell, MI, Michelle Daniels of Granbury, TX, Danielle Daniels of Oklahoma City, OK, Kristey (Josh Roberson) Finley of Columbia, and Mickey (Joe) Amburgery of Deputy, IN; a brother: Steven (Betty) Daniels of Pickney, MI; two sisters: Sherry (Melvin) Roberts and Carla Daniels both of Mt. Pleasant; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by half-brothers and sisters: Charles Daniels of Mesick, MI, Carl Daniels of Leroy, MI, Sandy Furtner of Boone, MI, Joyce Anderson of Mesick, MI, Elaine Schmidt of McBain, MI and Arthur Daniels of Mesick, MI.
