Clifford Hodge

March 19, 1966 - May 16, 2014

Clifford C. Hodge, age 48 of Summertown, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Clifford was born in Garden City, MI on March 19, 1966 and was the son of Clinton Hodge and Dorothy Marie Cranford Hodge Dugger. He attended Columbia Central High School and was a member of the Baptist church. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, officiated by friends of the family. He will be laid to rest in the Ebenezer Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, May 18 from 5:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Anyone who knew Clifford knew he had many "loves" in his life. Western movies, rodeos, bull riding and walking were among his favorites. He had participated as a runner in the Special Olympics and always enjoyed watching Gunsmoke on TV. His passion for the western life was evident in his hats, boots, jeans and cowboy shirts. His greatest love in life, however, was his precious mother. She was always at his side to care for and guide him throughout his life. In addition to his mother, Dorothy, he is survived by his step-father: Morris Ray Dugger of Summertown; a sister: Gina (Scott) Peterson of Columbia; two nephews: Andrew and Aaron Peterson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his step-sisters: Nancy (Don) Terry of Santa Fe and Sherry (Guy) Hall of Columbia; and a step-brother: Danny Dugger of Columbia. He was preceded in death by his father: Clinton Hodge. Pallbearers will be his cousins: Nicky Hodge, Mark Hodge, Barry Hodge, Jimmy Martin, Kenny McMullin, Bryan Horn, and others, as well as his brother-in-law: Scott Peterson.
