Rudolph "Rudy" Harrison

Mr. Rudolph "Rudy" Harrison, age 72, a resident of Columbia Gardens on Pulaski Highway in Columbia, passed away Monday morning, May 12, 2014 at Maury Regional Hospital. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the service hour at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on October 12, 1941, Rudy was the son of the late William Melvin Harrison, Sr. and Mittie Bell Brown Harrison. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia. He previously worked as a manager at Marriott Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Rudy served his country in the United States Air Force and often enjoyed bowling. His family described him as being easy to get along with. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters: Matavia Harrison, Mikita Harrison; two brothers: William and his wife Willeen Harrison of Columbia, Ivan Harrison of Detroit, Michigan; and a host of nieces and nephews. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his brother: Richard Harrison and wife: Crystal Harrison.
