Richard McConnell

August 26, 1960 - April 30, 2014

Mr. Richard Glenn McConnell, age 53, a previous resident of Columbia, passed away April 30, 2014 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Warren, Pennsylvania. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held on Thursday one hour prior to the service from 5:00 - 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born in Lawrenceburg on August 26, 1960, Richard was the son of Richard O'Neal and Hattie Mae McConnell. He worked many years driving the Maury County school buses as well as a few years driving the senior citizen buses. He was a "character" who was always joking and laughing. Richard will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his special friend: Dianne Erickson of Pennsylvania; siblings: Dwight McConnell of Lawrenceburg, Nancy (Jeff) Hart of West Point, TN, Betty Davis of Columbia, Bobby (Stacey) McConnell of St. Louis, Missouri, Kathy McConnell of Columbia, Michael (Dee) McConnell of Nashville, Bubba McConnell of Ethridge, Christy McConnell of Summertown; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Richard's co-workers at the Maury County Bus Garage will serve as honorary pallbearers.
