Douglas Van Brewer

Mr. Doug Van Brewer, age 49 of Williamsport, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, with Pastor Bobby Cates officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour at 3:00 PM on Friday. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Doug was born August 27, 1964 in Columbia, son of Vandon Ray Brewer and Nellie Gray Stewart Brewer Cates, and a member of the Baptist faith. Anyone who knew Douglas will remember his love for his dogs, Baby Girl and Sammy. He enjoyed watching westerns on TV and was a Titans football fan. He loved grilling out and drinking beer while spending time with friends. In earlier years he was even known to spend time fishing. He is survived by his sister: Pam Watkins of Columbia; his companion: Brenda Bobo, and her grandson: Shawn Carter; nephews: Tim, Jeremie and Michael Watkins; aunts & uncles: Ruthie Powell, Sam Stewart, Patricia Brewer, Charles Atkisson, and Lavergne Atkisson; cousins: William Powell, Jr, Frank Russell, Robert Michael Russell, Troy Brewer and Mike Brewer; a very special cousin: Carolyn Busby; and aunt: Pat Stewart. Pallbearers will be Tim, Michael, Jeremie and Bubba Watkins, William Powell, Tony and James Busby, Frank Russell and Troy Brewer.
