Ramon Victory

April 19, 1920 - April 15, 2014

Ramon Anderson Victory, a long-time resident of Theta, passed away Tuesday evening, April 15, 2014 at his NHC Hillview, four days shy of his 94th birthday. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 18, 2014 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Brother Lawrence Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Theta. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, April 17 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Mr. Victory was born April 19, 1920 and was the eldest of 10 children of John and Rosa Gordon Victory. He retired from Maury Manufacturing, but if asked he was "first and foremost a farmer." He loved working on the farm, but in his free time enjoyed wrestling and being with his grandchildren. His legacy is his family. He is survived by four children: Travis (June) Victory of Columbia, Marshall (Judy) Victory of Santa Fe, Ricky (Susie) Victory of Spring Hill, and Linda Carroll of Smyrna; a brother: Jim Victory of Lewisburg; 3 sisters: Mary Orton of Centerville, Margie Ardry of Williamsport and Fay Mitchell of Lewisburg; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Pearl Hosford Victory; a daughter: Estella Tosh; grand-daughter: Kristie Tosh; and 5 siblings: Paul Victory, Chester Victory, Jean Music, Rebecca Kelly and Esther Harville. The family wishes to give special thanks to the caring staff of NHC-Hillview and of Hospice Compassus.
