John Henry Kinzer, Jr., age 69 of Columbia, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A Homegoing Celebration will begin at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. John was born March 14, 1945 in Columbia and was the son of John Henry Kinzer, Sr. and Emma Nolia Green Kinzer. He will be best remembered as a Master Barber and owner of Kinzer's Barber Shop in Columbia. He trained at Tyler Barber College in Memphis, and was a member of the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and horseback riding. He also loved spending time with his dogs. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother: Larry Kinzer; and sister: Mary Kinzer Hall. To mourn his passing and celebrate his memory, he leaves behind a son: Jonathan Braden; and three daughters: Charmayne Kinzer-Brewington, Demeka R. Kinzer and Jennifer E. Kinzer; a brother: Charles T. Kinzer; sisters: Annie Ruth Kinzer, Mattie Kinzer-Wisener and Rosia Wells; one grandchild: Malik Webster; devoted niece: Deborah Webster; devoted friend: Rudolph Lockridge; and a host of extended family members. Honorary Pallbearers will be nephews: Andre Wisener, Keith Hall and Jonathan Hall, as well as Rudolph Lockridge, Randolph Lockridge, Morton Lockridge and Johnny Warfield. His nieces will serve as flower girls.
