Carl R. Remmele, age 69 of Thompson's Station, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at his residence after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Carl was born January 5, 1945 in Nashville and was the only child of Carl F. W. Remmele and Mary Gordon Rogan Remmele. Later, Carl was employed as a merchandiser with NABISCO, and finally worked closer to home in the Spring Hill and Franklin Food Lion locations. Carl's family and friends will remember him as a fabulous cook who enjoyed making hot spicy salsa. He also enjoyed gambling and hosted many card and pool games. Carl had a compassion toward animals and loved the many dogs he and Allison rescued from shelters. Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his loving wife: Allison Remmele of Thompson's Station; an uncle: Robert Rogan of Dickson; his best friend: Mike Woodward of Bellevue; and his beloved dog: Lulu. Carl will be laid to rest in a private service, with military honors provided by the United States Navy, in the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Allison wishes to express gratitude to the Nashville Veteran Hospital and Guardian Hospice, in Franklin, for their compassionate care during Carl's illness. Memorial donations are encouraged to be made to the Wreaths Across America Campaign, PO Box 219, Columbia Falls, ME04623, or Guardian Hospice, 711 Cool Springs Blvd, Suite 102, Franklin, TN 37067.
