Richard E. "Dick" Marshall, Sr., age 78 of Santa Fe, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at NHC-Columbia. The family will celebrate his life privately. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Dick was born November 29, 1935 in South Haven, MI and was one of three sons of James and Grace Sperry Marshall. Following his education, he served his country in the United States Army and later worked as a heavy equipment operator, retiring from the Volusia County (FL) Road Department. He was able to make or fix anything and was creative with any piece of wood. He made special items for friends and family, and even completed the trim work throughout his house. Dick loved people. It was obvious by looking at him and seeing the sparkle in his eye when he was around family and friends. According to his family, "Heaven gained a glorious soul" with his passing. Cherishing his memory is his wife: Helen Pritchard Marshall of Santa Fe; a daughter: LeAnn C. Pellerin of Yelm, WA; son: Richard E. "Ric" Marshall, Jr. of Santa Fe; brother: Neil Marshall of Allegan, MI; three grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
