Jesse Roy Morris

June 4, 1982 - March 17, 2014

Mr. Jesse Roy Morris, age 31, a resident of Bear Creek Pike in Columbia, passed away Monday morning, March 17, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor David Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Grace at Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to Heritage Funeral Home. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation on Friday, March 21 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Jesse was born June 4, 1982 in Houston, TX and was the son of Edward Charles Morris and Glenna Weller Morris. He was a graduate of Spring Hill High School and attended MTSU. Jesse enjoyed being outdoors, whether working on construction sites pouring concrete with his dad at Chuck Morris Concrete, or being with friends skateboarding, canoeing, or white water rafting. He had a passion for nature and being a part of it. Jesse was a kind, caring, compassionate and loving person. He was known and loved by many and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Jesse is survived by his father and step-mother: Edward Charles "Chuck" and Fannie Stanley Morris of Columbia; Jesse's mother: Glenna Weller Morris of Texas; his two sisters: Jessica (Wade) Kincaid and Ashley Stanley, both of Columbia; his brother: Kevin Berry of Texas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his brother: Shannon Berry. Those serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Dickenson, Jason Jacobs, Joe Collins, Rick Saxby, Matt Heathcock, Clint Uptain, Thaddeus Giddens, Christopher Horn, Jake Scottbell, and Anthony Patton. Honorary pallbearers will be former employees and co-workers of Chuck Morris Concrete. To honor Jesse's memory, the family requests that memorial donations be made in his name to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, 2200 Children's Way, Nashville, TN 37232.
