Charles Lloyd "Chuck" Denzin, age 78 of Columbia, passed away March 11, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 6:30 at Parkway Baptist Church, 1500 Tom J. Hitch Parkway in Columbia, officiated by Bro. Mike Roberts. Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corp. The family will receive friends from 4:30 pm until the service at 6:30 pm on Thursday, at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Chuck was born May 19, 1935 in Reeder, ND to Anna Lura and Francis John Denzin. He was married to Rita Lynn Denzin and lived in Columbia the last 7 years. He was a retired Civil Service employee where he worked for the Department of Defense. His last posting was in N.A.S. Millington, off and on from 1974 to 1991. Other postings included Subic Bay, Philippines and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Chuck served his beloved Marine Corp and never failed to recognize the birthday of the Marines. He loved sports and was a fan of any local team. Rita and Chuck attended the Parkway Baptist Church in Columbia. He will be remembered and honored as a great husband, and loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife: Rita Carson Denzin of Columbia; two sons and wives: Brad & Suzanne Denzin of Collierville, TN and Michael & Anne Denzin of Leesburg, VA; eight grandchildren: Dustin, Rachel, David, Nicholas, Megan and Jacob Denzin, Jonathan and Thomas Kenton; a step-son: Scott & Karen Kenton of Kathleen, GA; and a brother and sister-in-law: Donald "Don" & Marilyn Denzin of Sundance, WY. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkway Baptist Church Expansion Fund, P.O. Box 765, Columbia, TN 38401.
