Peggy Hill

April 9, 1931 - March 10, 2014

Peggy Daniels Hill (Allen), age 82 of Culleoka, passed away Monday morning, March 10, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Ronnie Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Gibsonville Cemetery in Giles County. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Peggy was born on April 9, 1931 in Maury County and was the oldest child of Claude Thomas and Gracie Clifton Daniels. She was a homemaker and affiliated with the Colonial Meadows Church for Christ. Growing up on the family farm, Peggy enjoyed working in the tobacco fields, with her father, above housework. Over the years she developed her skills of cooking and working in her flowers around the house. She was a simple and gentle lady who enjoyed a good yard sale or flea market. Some of her most memorable trips were the Labor Day journey to Mississippi for the sales during that weekend. She was happiest with her family gathering together and sharing time with each other. Her sense of humor and love of surprises made a simple gathering into something to be remembered. But above all, her family will best remember her as a "happy, gentle soul." She had such a passion for being with her family that her final battle was to stay with them as long as possible. But in the end, her journey carried her into the arms of her Creator, and her memory will remain with those who loved her. Peggy is survived by her children: Mary E. Scott of Columbia; Lucy Prince (Danny Fralix) of Fayetteville; Tommy (Ceil) Hill of Goldsboro, NC; Deborah (Kenneth) Jett and Sherry (Rickey) Haskins, both of Columbia; siblings: Wilma Oliver, Margaret Petty, Charles Daniels and Perry (Wilma Lee) Daniels, all of Columbia; grandchildren: Rebecca (Christopher) Head, Cory (Ashley) Scott, Eddie Prince III, Adam (Angela) Prince, Angela "Sissy" Prince and Joshua (Stephanie) Haskins; great-grandchildren: William, Dan, Wyatt, Walker, Weston, Anna, Chad and Cameron; several nephews; step-children; Jane Ferguson, Ray Parker, Johnny Allen and Robert Allen Jr; and step-grandchildren: Tim, Angel, Jenny, Paedra, George and Wendy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children: Raymond Hill; second husband: Robert Allen, Sr.; sister: Juanita Polk; and brothers: Jimmy Daniels and Claude "Bud" Daniels, Jr. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and other friends.
