Roy Alvin Martin

June 18, 1938 - February 27, 2014

Mr. Roy Alvin Martin, age 75, passed away Thursday morning, February 27, 2014 at Williamson Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st at 11am in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Dan Tholen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4-8pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Roy was born on June 18, 1938, and was the son of the late Mack Martin and the late Mamie Pullum Martin. He was a farmer who was well known and loved in the community. He was a member of West Main Church of Christ. Roy had a wonderful church family that he treasured dearly. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching wrestling on television. Roy had a bad case of arthritis, but he never let it stop him. He was always willing to go on. He was also one of those people that everyone wanted to be around. If you ever met him, you were attached. Roy is survived by his brothers: Walter (Mary) Martin, Thomas (Aletha) Martin of Centerville, and O.V. (Carolyn) Martin of Pulaski. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Martin. Pallbearers will be Mark Mitchell, Dustin Martin, Doug Bain, Tim Goar, Matt Mitchell, and Todd Davis.
