Mary Ellen Swagler, age 93, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Signature Healthcare. The family will celebrate her life with private services at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Mrs. Swagler was born on September 9, 1920 in Buffalo, New York and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Rosee Denler. She worked as a dental assistant. She is survived by her two sons: Paul Swagler of Watertown, NY, Joseph Swagler of San Diego, CA; and her daughter: Ginny Baron of Columbia.
