Betty Lou Johnson Pewitt

Betty Lou Johnson Pewitt, age 83, a resident of Franklin, passed away Friday morning, June 14, 2013 at her daughters residence in Lewisburg. Funeral services for Betty will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery in Fernvale, TN. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 4-8 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Pewitt was born on July 31, 1929 in Centerville, TN and was the daughter of the late Early and Sally Fitzgerald Johnson. She was of the Baptist faith and knew that through any and everything God was in control. She always said, What will be, will be. Betty loved others unconditionally and always wore her million dollar smile. One way she showed her unconditional love was by insisting any visitors had something to eat or drink before they left her home. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a son: William Daniel Pewitt of Franklin; six daughters: Midge (Calvin) Sullivan of Lewisburg, Sally (Brick) Sturgeon of Nashville, Mildred (Randy) Goodgine of Franklin, Jeri (Mike) Goodgine of Mt. Pleasant, Dorothy Pewitt of Lavergne, Polly Pewitt Drury of Lavergne; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pewitt was the last of twelve children, and in addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Lorene Pewitt Ray; husband: William Jerry Pewitt; and granddaughter: Inga Ray Mangrum.
