Mr. Bryan McClain Delk, age 41, and a resident of Baker Road in Columbia passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center due to injuries sustained in a car accident. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor David Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 5:00 " 8:00 PM and again two hours prior to the service on Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and is in charge of the arrangements. Bryan was born on January 28, 1972 in Columbia to Ross McClain Delk and Patricia Adams Delk. He was a graduate of Columbia Central High School. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Columbia and worked as a driver for FedEx. Bryan also worked for the Columbia Police Department under SWAT and Patrol from 1993 until 2009. He was also involved in the bicycle program as well as the Crime Suppression Unit. Bryan adored his wife, Laurie Sue Delk, of almost 20 years and loved his family. He enjoyed playing with his kids, especially video games with his boys. He often bought gifts for his wife and daughters. He liked Harleys, jeeps, and mustangs, and he also collected guns. The memories of Bryan will live forever in the hearts of his family and friends. He was loved by many and will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. In addition to his wife and parents, he leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons: McClain Jacob Delk of Columbia, Mason Tyler Delk of Columbia; two daughters: Laurelle Angelica Delk of Lexington, KY, Carynne Allyson Delk of Columbia; half-brothers: Jake Delk of Columbia, Hunter Delk of Columbia; sister, Jennifer Delk (Brent) Pendleton of Lawrenceburg; half-sister, Kayla Delk of Coulmbia; maternal grandparents, Dory & Grace Adams of Columbia; uncle, Jerry Adams of Pleasantview; and aunts: Diane Pylant of Columbia, Debra Barrow of Columbia, Vickie (Jim) Matthews of Pegram, TN. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Ryan Pendleton, Justin Pendleton, Lauren Pendleton all of Lawrenceburg; in-laws: Jimmie and Jacalyn Lantrip of Columbia; and sisters-in-law: Linda Lantrip (Jason) Harvey of Houston, TX and Jaimie (Scott) Graham of Culleoka. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jake & Clara Delk and his aunt and uncle, Henry & Elyse Delk. Pallbearers will include policemen: Chris Bishop, Vince Morgan, Brad Ribley, Bill Denton, Jake Marbet, and Jason Bobb.
