Petty Officer First Class Christopher Chris Neal Cozart, age 25, and a former resident of Estill Springs, TN, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at Pearl Harbor Naval Station, Hawaii. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev Johnny Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the United States Navy. The family will visit with friends for visitation on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 12:00 noon " 8:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. Chris was born in Columbia on May 7, 1987. He was the son of Charles Neal Cozart and Nancy Ann Underwood. He served our country in the United States Navy attending Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, and crew member on board USS Tucson SSN 770 from 2007-2012 where he was an Electricians Mate. He graduated from Tullahoma High School in 2005. He loved motorcycles and country music. He enjoyed playing golf, his guitar, and watching movies and comedies. He liked skydiving and skydived successfully two times. He also liked traveling, and hanging with his friends. When he was a young boy he was a great baseball and football player. He is survived by his mother, Nancy Ann Sebolt Underwood of Columbia; step-father, Anthony R. Underwood of Estill Springs, TN; father and step-mother, Charles Neal (Wanda) Cozart of Oklahoma; half-brother, Anthony Cozart of Pulaski; grandmother, Eulita Cozart of Pulaski; step-brother, Bill Cloutier and step-sister, Anne Cloutier both of New Hampshire; aunts: Suzanne (Tom) Sebolt Gagneur of Culleoka, TN, Terri George of Pulaski, Lana Sauvage of Kansas; uncles: John (Linda) Sebolt of Murfreesboro; Larry Cozart of Pulaski; and cousins: Cassie (Stephen) Blalock of Columbia, Katie Sebolt of Estill Springs, TN, Wendy (Jeremy) Lowry of Nashville, and Charles Sebolt of Estill Springs, TN. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles and Virginia Sebolt and Charles Cozart. Active pallbearers will be the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard provided by the United States Navy Operational Support Center, Nashville, TN. Honorary pallbearers will be Teddy Hurst, Andrew Rose, James Delaney, and Joe Hopkins. The family requests the memorial be made to Operation Stand Down: 1125 12th Avenue South Nashville, TN 37203 in memory of Christopher Cozart.
